Educating Children around Zimbabwe about Covid-19 through Radio

A Save the Children sponsored radio programme called JuniorZi started airing on ZiFM Stereo recently. It focuses on informing and educating children about Covid-19, helping them understand the importance of adhering to prevention measures such as, hand washing and social distancing, respond to the Covid-19 questions from children, and ultimately help children to protect themselves.During the programme child friendly Covid-19 related messages are broadcasted, with the passcode for the children calling-in during the programme being #ProtectAGeneration.

Protecting Staff from the Coronavirus

Prior to entry, temperature checks using a hand-held thermometer are conducted on all staff and visitors, and this is followed by compulsory hand washing. In addition, everyone who enters the premises is expected to be wearing a mask in line with the directive from the President of Zimbabwe. Within the office compound, more hand-washing stations have also been placed at all entry points which include the entrance to the kitchen and main office.
